2014 proceeded along the lines of a classic Napa Valley growing season exhibiting ideal weather conditions from early spring through a beautiful harvest with warm but never truly hot days and very cool nights. Many stellar wines were produced throughout the Valley, but the general consensus is that the best were products of specific vineyards rather than specific appellations. And thanks to our seasoned vineyard team, Jaffe Estate is considered in the top tier. Deep ruby in color with dusty rose petals on the nose accompanied by a slight note of spice and supported by red berries and current. The palate demonstrates a delightful silky texture with rich red berry notes, supple tannin and good acidity leading to a long, bright and complex layered finish with strong hints of red berries from the nose and palate. Overall, the wine presents an interwoven sense of structure, balance, elegance and pristine texture all framed by bright red fruits and earthy tones that deepen with a bit of air in the glass. While an excellent pairing with a charred steak, you should also try it with roasted leg of lamb, a delicious veal chop or a variety of hearty grilled veggie dishes.
