Napa Valley yields were sharply lower in 2015 due to a cool, wet and windy spring that interfered with bud break, flowering and set causing extensive shatter. However, as Mother Nature often does, what she gave us in challenges, she made up for in appeal with concentrated flavors, aromatics and lush tannins in the finished wine. Both our Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot showed exceptional character in 2015 as we worked carefully with the lower yields and increased skin to juice ratio. Visually, you will appreciate the deeply concentrated purple color that is followed by a nose dominated by black cherry with hints of red berries and earth. The palate continues the theme with a rich, full bodied mouthfeel encompassed by black fruits and notes of blueberries and red cherry. The finish is powerful as it lingers, carrying on the nuances of the palate with a touch of sweet spice enhancing the memories of a robust wine that leads to the next sip. With all of its elements in harmony, your 2015 Transformation will be a treat to enjoy for that very special celebration or just as a dinnertime partner on your table at home.
